Re: Grenfell Tower in Archive Shows & Films

My mistake. Thanks for the correction.
I wrongly assumed the tower blocks featured were more near the Wood Lane end of Westway.

Re: Google Streetview and Maps Archive TV locations thread

I think I've found the location used for the Fisher house in "Billy Liar" (LWT 1973-74). It's 11 Northwood Gardens in Greenford, London. The street name is shown in a location shot in "Billy and the Long Lunch" though the house has changed - there's been a new garage and extension. https://goo.gl/m...

The cover artwork needs amending: no need for an apostrophe after 70s.
Little things like that will bug me every time I look at it.

Re: Talking Pictures TV - New Channel from Renown

I recorded A Hole Lot Of Trouble last Sunday and watched it last night. The picture quality was good but the sound was terrible. The music was loud but when Arthur Lowe appeared, you couldn't hear him. Disappointing. If it's on again I'll re-watch it to see if it has improved.

Re: Old films on Blu-Ray - recommendations

My policy is: Get the ones you haven't got first. Well, I have everything I want currently available on dvd so I'm thinking of a like for like replacement on most titles where Blu-Ray is worth upgrading to. Also, how well does an old black and white film look on Blu-Ray? Anyone here bought Victim y...

Old films on Blu-Ray - recommendations

Hi all, I don't own any Blu-rays yet but seeing many old classic films now appearing on forthcoming releases is making me want to get a blu-ray player. What available releases are worth buying? I have many Network and StudioCanal DVDs. Is it worth double dipping for The Ipcress File, Victim and The ...

Re: Network Comedy Sale.

How many recording sessions are on there, and roughly how long are they? I generally stand by my belief that there's no such thing as uninteresting rushes, unless you want to warn me otherwise. There's two groups of recording sessions. Ian Bannen pilot (studio) 1hr 18 mins Vote Mrs Cantaford episod...

A blu-ray for this film is well deserved. Fantastic!!!

Is this a revised and edited version of an older documentary?

I had a long chat with Norman Eshley about the same situation a few years ago over drinks at a pub in Hedgerley, near Slough while he stayed there at his sister's. A great bloke to talk to although he never liked to mention George And Mildred.
