Re: TV clashes

In our house I can remember my parents having an agreement where one week Mum would watch Upstairs Downstairs and the next Father could watch Match of the Day.

Stormy Weather 1938 (film)

A local newspaper cutting has come to light about this film directed by Ronald Haines for British Production Pictures Ltd. Partly filmed at Clovelly hence my interest. Filmed in 1937 and released in 1938. Can't find it listed at the BFI website but it is very briefly mentioned in the World Film Cata...

No, terrible really, had no memory of it coinciding at all. Yet I can remember the question he asked almost word for word.

Re: Gardners Question Time Broadcast Dates?

Many thanks, I have got someone checking the local press for me. I didn't know if there was perhaps an online listing of all episodes. We did have an audio recording of it which we taped off the radio at the time buts its long since disappeared.

Gardners Question Time Broadcast Dates?

Just wondering if anyone can help. My late Father appeared on an episode of Gardners Question Time asking a question. It was recorded in Hartland, North Devon and I think it would have been the mid 1970s. Would anyone be able to locate the date of that episode's transmission or direct me where to lo...

Re: Sherlock Holmes

In the Brett series the Adventures and the Return are both superb series - later series have a gem here and there but Brett's failing health is obvious and the sparkle has largely gone. In terms of other TV Holmes, I enjoyed both the Wilmer and Cushing versions, and of course the modern reboot as S...

Alternative 3 is available on Clubcard TV

Tesco have launched a free streaming service called Clubcard TV. You need a valid clubcard to sign up but its free although ad supported. Its not got a heck of a lot on it yet but in the movies section they have got Alternative 3 available. Was a bit surprised to find this.

Can't wait for this one. Shame there won't be any more afterwards. I've loved this from Series 1 Episode 1 all the way through.

Re: Jill and Jen the flowerpot women

Thanks Guys. What struck me was the thought of a one off special made a couple of years later. Just didn't seem likely to be the sort of thing that would happen then or did it? The thing is the article didn't strike me as an obvious wind up and the rest of it seems to be accurate. They even named th...

Jill and Jen the flowerpot women

According to Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flower_Pot_Men a one off special in 1954 featured Jill and Jen the flowerpot women. I can't seem to find any reference elsewhere. Does anyone know if this is correct or just another wiki-ism? I don't recall ever seeing this or is or hearing of it before.

Father Brown - New Series

Happened to notice next week a new series of Father Brown starring Mark Williams. I'm not quite sure why its being shown as an afternoon drama but hopefully it will be on iPlayer so I can see it. 50 Minute stories by the look of it. 10 episodes in total. Will be interesting to see how this series co...
