Re: Ace of Wands - Sales to Other Countries

IIRC this is covered in the documentary on the excellent Network boxset. Periodically paperwork would be sent to each production office at Thames. This would include a form that you could fill in to say if you wanted the production specifically preserving in the VT library or not. One day the forms ...

Re: The All-Purpose Current Doctor Who (2005-) Thread

Maybe we should consider the original blueprint of the show: to appeal primarily to intelligent 10-14 year olds along with the rest of the family with historical adventures to allow for an element of education. Well after years of the Moff making it up as he went along, trying to convince me I shoul...

You chucked it out?

Oh mate, give it a go. Really. I know what you're referring to but really it isn't what you think. It's the best drama ever produced as far as I am concerned. Episode 5 is an excellent piece of television.

Has anyone noticed the way that the Made In... network has gone? In Liverpool we started with Bay TV and this was taken over by the Made In network to become Made in Liverpool. Nothing appeared to change from the Bay TV model but now we have up to six hours of Judge Judy repeats and then for three h...

This reminds me of 'Married: With Children'. Peggy's maiden name in that show is Wanker. Her family, the Wankers, hail from the fictitious rural Wanker County, Wisconsin.

Re: Non actors appearing as themselves.

Larry Grayson made two appearances in Crossroads. Firstly he appeared as an irate Motel guest complaining about the state of his chalet. Apparently he went off script and started improvising in true Grayson style, until a cut to credits was organised. Sadly, as this is one of the two thousand or mor...

Wasn't Eldorado £5million on set, equipment and start up and then £11million general budget? £16 million would surely take it near the top?
That would be £30,386,530 in todays cash.

The 1969 Witchcraft storyline was brought to a rather abrupt end by the IBA who didn't think that Witchcraft was suitable for a teatime serial. I've got the audio of half the final episode the story featured in and it's very strange to hear them chanting away. It's much more like Dark Shadows than C...

Dear All, In my degree year I headed to TVC on the 22nd of March to shoot the full day behind the scenes on that days live transmission of Blue Peter from Television Centre. Can I recommend a quick download of the podcast Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre Podcast and look for the episode in which he chats to John Lloyd. They discuss not only the recording of this scene but also the editing in quite some detail.

Re: The All-Purpose Current Doctor Who (2005-) Thread

As a fellow fan said on Facebook, "imagine Genesis of the Daleks" but if they took the piss out of the Daleks". It would be fairly shoddy. I always felt that Coleman was having to fight against the "wit" and flippancy which, as suggested, substituted for character development. Eventually the writers...

From the perspective of a viewer, who has been used to Terry being there since I was born, I feel like I've lost a really cool Uncle.
Silly I know, however whenever he appeared on TV I knew I would smile.

Hmm... Well the only thing I can think it could have is the rather wonderful "Beyond the Barrier" documentary.

Unless someone has colourised and/or vidfired it.

Tell you what, Network. If it has the original ATV countdown clocks on I'll have it, despite having the Carlton set.
Deal?

Once again my kids loved it and the whole family was able to watch it together. This is the only show on TV that this happens with. For that reason I truly cannot fault it. Yes it has shortcomings but for me that whole family experience makes it all so worthwhile.
