Re: Target

The BBC archive says it's blocked due to a complaint from the estate of the programme's late creator.

Ooh, ta.

Ordered.

Now if only they'd do something about releasing Danny The Dragon. I missed the final episode as we went on holiday on the day our local screened it. There were tears (and not just from Danny).

There's an edition of 'Talkback' in the BBC Archive from 15/7/69 for which the description is:
"Feedback programme from television viewers, introduced by Cliff MICHELMORE. Participants discuss violence in 'Wojeck', 'Reason To Believe' and 'Britain Today'. Featuring excerpts from progs"

I also remember an edition of "Blue Peter" being shown in B&W. That would be the one that was done at Lime Grove, when there wasn't a studio available at Television Centre, and they just made it to the end before it went Kaputt! The Blue Peter of 13-6-74 was shown in black & white on BBC-2 due to W...

A heads-up if you bought last year's Katherine Jenkins Christmas Special. That'll disappear in 10 years. That's why I think the "Buy, Download, and Keep" slogan they use is rather misleading. There was a question about her early in the programme. Jeremy Hardy really had a go, while Alan Coren says "I know very little about the Princess of Wales or land mines, except that you'd be mad to poke either of them". Simon Hoggart adds "Diana would ideally like to live overseas, but can't leave b...

It's a library piece on De Wolfe. Fanfare Opening by Derek Laren. It reminded me of something Monty Python might have used so I headed to the De Wolfe site (as they used a lot of stuff from there). I recall that in the early days they wrapped it around a programme as BARB ratings for a show of 5 minutes or so wouldn't register. I believe the situation is different 22 years on, but they still do it. Well, until the end of the month, anyway.

The basement returned in the final few episodes.

Never has every plotline in a soap been so hurriedly wrapped-up as in the final episode of this. It's well worth seeing!

A re-run from Series 1 begins tomorrow (15th).

I've enjoyed watching the first series. At the end a caption and announcement said it was back in the Summer (as mentioned above). I had a tweet from Talking Pictures TV a few days ago saying they were still restoring it.

It still happens in some sports programmes. There'll be a graphic with start-times (quite often Scotland, Wales & NI will delay a late MOTD2 or something during the week).
Well, there is if the producers can be bothered. Sometimes they forget.

Yes, they're genuine. There were also test trails produced for BBCs 1 & 2.
