Re: Forces TV: Space 1999
I did wonder what had happened when it came back after the break, and they were all flying about!...tech problems. The missing bit was shown before tonight's episode, and the complete version again on Saturday. I said to my husband it looked like they'd left the tape running while the ads were on.....

The screenshot that the Guardian used to illustrate the news is startlingly clear...like it was taken yesterday... http://www.theguardian.com/media/2016/apr/20/david-attenborough-early-films-in-colour-bbc-zoo-quest And they are saying examples will be shown the week of Attenborough's 90th on BBC4, s...

A very brief clip from one of his programmes, talking about the housing boom, appeared in last night's Back in Time for the Weekend . ~iw I looked up "Back in Time for the Weekend" on youtube as a result of this. The over simplicity and stereotyping of the 50's was very disappointing. After hearing...

I have a memory of a programme I've never been able to find... It's mid 70s. An edwardian drama about a little girl - something about her being brought up alone and one of her servants teaches her the song 'The Boy I Love is up in the Gallery'. I remember a scene of her in a garden picking flowers a...

I agree about The Onedin Line...I watched it as a kid and am getting back into it again after getting it on DVD - but I would be the first to admit it's a nostalgia kick for me, as well as loving the costumes... I fully sympathise with the OP about nothing seeming very good once you've been bitten b...

I saw her play Gertrude to Alan Rickman's Hamlet about 20 years ago...I'd never seen the play before (but had read bits of it...) so was surprised when, between the pair of them, they made it very very funny... Another quest to identify a programme from the 70s...
I have a memory of watching a drama in the 70s set in the past - Victorian or Edwardian era, I think. Gaynor Hodgson was memorable as Binny as well and she doesn't seem to have done any thesping at all after this. Most strange.
