Re: SF/Fantasy/Cult/General TV Podcast Recommendations

Anyone checked out Whisperers in Darkness on the Sounds App.

Modern takes on Lovecraft's Charles Dexter Ward and the above title. Both really really good, highly recommended.

It's probably my long abiding love of the Avon character that got me into so called 'cult tv' in the first place. Thank you Mr Darrow. RIP.

I'm glad that I am not such a stickler for these things!

One advantage the Dutch set does have is that it will free up at least a foot of space on your average archive TV fan's bulging shelves....

Any sign of any further series from Simply or will I have to resort to those German releases? Addendum - an email from Simply received today says they have no further...

Whither Something in Disguise/Chessgame?

These seem to be two titles seem to have drifted off into 'we are awaiting a release date' hell. Anyone have any clues as to when that might change?

I'm very surprised no one else has commented on this excellent release. Got my copy for Christmas and have just started on "Q6". Fantastic to see the original episodes as they originally went out. Long overdue release! Hope they'll do "The Goodies" complete next. As is well known only three out of ...

As a budding teenage prog rocker in the 1980's, obviously not my cup of tea musically, but, a lot of the stories coming out about him after his death seem to concern his generosity to those in need, which is heart warming.

I know we are not supposed to put links to a certain site here but there is some really wonderful footage on that site of Fairports (and Steeleye Span during the Martin Carthy era of the band) if you search with the band names and Ainsdale Beach. Priceless.

Strangely we had just introduced my 7 year old daughter to the joys of Clouseau and Cato, though, to be honest, it was me with tears of laughter rolling down my cheeks and my daughter wondering what all the fuss was about.

Thanks for all the laughs Burt. RIP

I remember seeing "The Day After" on TV here - I must of been in my teens when it aired, and I recall being scared s**tless by it. I've never seen it again since the original broadcast so can't say how I'd react now. I've never seen "Threads" but by all accounts, the impression I've got from people...

Is my DVD player dead...?

All of a sudden my DVD player has decided to show what can only be described as a garbled splash screen and then, though DVD's will load and play with perfect sound, the picture is all stripey with colours constantly rolling round. I will of course try an alternative scart, but wondered if anyone kn...
