Re: 30 Years of Spitting Image

Peter Harris (Director) and Barbara Bradbury (P.A) relayed tales of such late editing / production to us when we interviewed them for 'From ATVLAND In Colour'. A representative from the IBA would be present at Central in Birmingham for most episodes due to the tight / late production scheduling, as ...

Re: After a 31 year wait....

Nice to see the ident retained again tonight despite having that horrendous D.O.G in the top quarter of the screen. I can't believe how different this series was to the more familiar format! I remember Jim Bowen telling us, when we interviewed him for 'From ATVLAND In Colour', that it took a long ti...

Re: PR: Mrs Thursday - The Complete Series 1 [Network]

When we interviewed him for the Atvland Dvd, Shaw Taylor had an anecdote about this : When pitching the series to Lew Grade, Willis apparently hadn't decided on the main characters name, but when asked the question by Grade, he looked around and fixated on a clock which had a calendar incorporated i...

Re: Challenge - Bullseye news!

This just posted on Facebook:- EDIT:- Episodes 1 and 2 are missing from Series 1. Was their a pilot made? I got the impression from Producer Peter Harris and Jim Bowen that episodes 1 & 2 were effectively pilots and were junked because they were so bad! Jon Scoffield allegedly ordered their destruc...

Re: Frankie Howerd

Rex Features has the photo they used listed (as part of the ITV library it licences) as Frankie Howerd - 'Up Pompeii' 1973, so I'm guessing possibly some sort of skit on the programme on something ATV were producing?

Re: PR: From Headlines to "Tight-lines" - The Story of ATV T

We'd love for that to happen - not sure what MACE can manage this year, with budget restrictions, but we're hopeful they may do something like that in the near future. In the mean time anyone is considering buying this and haven't yet taken the plunge, ITV Central are featuring clips from the DVD th...

Re: From ATVLand in Colour

If anyone is interested, MACE are selling a limited number of copies of 'From ATVLAND In Colour" for £7.50 - These are from a damaged consignment and so the digi-packs and slip cases have some slight damage but the discs inside are brand new and unscratched. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/...

Re: Hartley at 40

Nigel Plaskitt apparently has a large number of episodes available in his personal collection, which (up to now) Network haven't taken him up on his offer of, in order to release on DVD. You never know though - it could re-appear on their radar one day

Re: From ATVLand in Colour

Thank you Andrew for your kind comments. We all enjoyed putting the programmes together and were definitely devoted to making the shows -highlighting some of the classic television made at the ATV Centre. We have been so pleased that so many people have enjoyed the DVD set and are very grateful for ...

Re: Doctor Who Classic Series and DVDs

Having just watched the recently released 'Ambassadors of Death' I'd suggest that should be looked at again. The colour recovered episodes in my opinion should have been treated to some standard saturation reduction before being committed to disc. I ended up turning the colour down on my TV and foun...

Re: Archive TV on BBC 2 Daytime?

Certainly an encouraging development, particularly considering the wasteland that daytime TV is currently. I agree. For some time I have said in conversations with friends that there has to be a 'market' for this sort of repeat schedule - rather than create (in some cases) trash to fill the broadca...

PR: From Headlines to "Tight-lines" - The Story of ATV Today

My colleague and friend Thwaity previously posted about this in the 'old' forum so I hope you don't mind me resurrecting the topic in case there are those interested in looking some of the rare archive news and feature reports from ATV that are featured in this DVD. We have produced this DVD for MAC...

Re: Hello again

Congratulations on your new 'home'. I'm pleased, after several years of not being able to join the 'club' to at last be here. I've wanted to say thank you to many of you for the compliments paid to my work on the 'From ATVLAND In Colour' DVD last year, but have had to leave it to colleagues. So a li...
