Re: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
I had completely forgotten that Susan Sheridan had passed away, and was confused when she was credited with one of the Trillians (archive material, naturally) and then the episode was dedicated to her. Also a pity that Stephen Moore couldn't be coaxed into coming out of retirement for this. Jim Broa...

Re: TVseries not shows that never saw the light of day
A previous poster mentioned Cilla Black doing a sit-com pilot. Three or four years ago I attended the taping of one starring Paul O'Grady as someone who had just come out of prison, and his posh sister, played by Cilla. The taping took forever, 'cos Cilla kept forgetting her lines. TBH it wasn't th...

I liked it. It wasn't very deep thought Sci-Fi (nor was it derp thought...) I thought the last three episodes were good, but we're now left with a cliffhanger (almost typed hangover) that will never be resolved. I really wish that year one shows wouldn't do that (but, to quote Big Heads "We can't al...

Wow, it's been a couple days and no one's mentioned the return of the Mondasian Cybermen... Granted, I'm disappointed by a couple aspects: That they didn't go for the original description ("In the scripts, their faces were to be human (albeit all rather similar), with a metal plate under their hair....

I saw it in the cinema last night as well, and agree that the "performances" were a little wooden. Also the big screen amplifies the odd flaws - like one character's name tag floating off for a moment. I also swear that Ben and Polly were wearing their Vulcan colony outfits just before it's suggeste...

So that was odd. Over here in the States we just got the Underwater Menace DVD this week. They were all so overjoyed to s...

Nice and clean cut for me, ended with "Survival". Be interesting to see what effect the 12 month gap has on American ratings, and isn't there going to be a new "Star Trek" series next year?...if it's placed against Nu-Who, the latter would get quite a bashing. The new Trek is an online program, wit...

Regarding the air time, this was brought up on the Fanderson FaceBook group: Does anyone actually watch at time of broadcast these days? So being broadcast at 8am means it's available to watch whenever you want - including 5pm (if that's your preference).

Wow, no one hopped in here to complain about "Last Christmas". Maybe all those vocal complainers have finally stopped watching (seems unlikely). ONLY 11 cinemas in the whole US to show it live!!! They don't have unlimited budget. If they're doing the live simulcast via a remote feed from the UK (which would be the best way as far as security goes - no need to send copies out in advance), that's expensive. My personal geographical rant is th...

Oh, well... If it had gone the Netflix route, it wouldn't be platform dependent. If it goes xbox, then I advocate pirating - it's tantamount to saying I can only watch a program on a certain brand of television (and not everyone wants to own a game console...)

I know that some LWT programmes were sold to the US through DLT Entertainment and possibly Time-Life (I grew up watching them over here!) The ones that made it over here were not t/r's, but converted to NTSC. I'm pretty sure we got most of the "Doctor in/at..." sold to us. I'm pretty sure that "...D...

All I could see on my Twitter feed is from Ian "I can't just be happy that Doctor Who is actually on, and stop whinging about how many we get" Levine, so I'll take it with a pinch of salt... The funny thing is, last report I'd heard had Moff, Smith & Coleman back for series 8/34.

No - the Dave Allen release was shelved because the family are still enforcing Allen's wish that his comedy work is not repeated or released on DVD. I think that's partially my fellow countryman's fault, as DAaL was in pretty good rotation on PBS here in the States. Apparently he'd gotten so much h...
