Me too!

Seriously, I do hope some way can be found to make this available to view. At only 18 seconds, could it not just be posted on YouTube ...?

Re: Ace of Wands - 'Eye of Ra' audios

I think Mark is right about the originals of those "The Eye of Ra" audios possibly being better quality. I've just had a quick listen to one of the ones that's now appeared on You Tube and it definitely sounds more muffled than the one I've got - maybe a couple of generations further down ...?

I don't know if it's still worth making suggestions for further inclusions in this range, but two releases I would really love to see are "Brond", an excellent drama shown by Channel 4 in 1987 starring Stratford Johns and John Hannah, with a Scottish independence theme, and an unedited version of t...

Re: Network's 'Forgotten TV Drama' range

I pre-ordered Vols 1 + 2 of the new "Armchair Theatre Archive" series, and although Vol 2 has turned up, Vol 1 was not in the package. Do I need to be worried, or has Vol 2 come out ahead of Vol 1 ....?

the unedited version of Natural Lies I have that from the repeat transmission (did record the first, but in the meantime got a stereo VCR). I didn't realise the DVD was a cut-down version. Yes, the DVD of "Natural Lies" is an edited compilation, sadly. I'd love to see it get a full release - althou...

Could I take this opportunity to recommend Mark Ward's excellent "Till Death Us Do Part" book "A Family at War"? We at Telos Publishing issued this back in 2008, and copies are currently available via our website at the absolute bargain price of £3.99. Although it focuses predominantly on the BBC se...

It's been a while since I last visited the Mausoleum Club (foolishly!) so I missed the initial announcement of this season, but I'm pleased I've spotted it now. I'll be attending at least one session (ticket just booked!) and maybe others if availability (mine and the tickets') allows.

Evgeny Gridneff novel on the way from Telos Publishing!

Not sure if this should go here or in the section on books, but fans of classic BBC dramas including "Star Cops", "Tenko" and "Blott on the Landscape" might like to be aware that Telos has just announced the publication next month of the debut novel by their former producer/director Evgeny Gridneff....

Re: PR: Out of the Unknown [bfi]

It looks like a rip of the episode "Some Lapse of Time" from the upcoming dvd set has somehow leaked out. It's turned up on one of the torrents sites we can't mention. Aren't pretty well all the surviving episodes on YouTube anyway? They've been there for years - unless they've been recently taken ...

I don't think I'd buy it without at least a reasonable amount of restoration work and I suspect I'm not alone in that. I suspect you might be! I've already got bootleg copies of all the surviving material from the show, but I'll be pre-ordering this set as soon as the listing appears. There's littl...

Re: PR: Out of the Unknown [bfi]

This is absolutely astonishing news. I thought we might possibly get a "Selected Episodes from ..." type release, but for the BFI to have managed to clear *all* of them is a major achievement. Wonderful! But is it really going to be a PG release ....? With the "controversial" content of "To Lay a Gh...

Re: Redubbing Music on Archive Releases

IIRC, when the orignal VHS was done, for that scene they used the optical soundtrack (which lacked the Stones track), overlaid with stock music. I don't think they did - the dialogue track for the disco scene is equally muffled on the vhs release as it is on the dvd. It's the same stock track too, ...

Telos's "Space: 1999" book now available on Kindle

Just a heads-up that Telos's acclaimed comprehensive guide book to "Space:1999", "Destination: Moonbase Alpha" by Robert E Wood, is now available as a Kindle edition. The text has had a couple of new sections added by Robert to bring it right up to date, and some minor corrections made elsewhere. Th...

I do wonder why they've never released the BBC Doomwatch episodes on DVD (bar the VHS released episodes) I'd also love to see this show released, but it'd be a bit of a nightmare, restoration wise. So many episodes existing as NTSC rather than PAL, and (IIRC) some in B&W only - and I'm sure the bud...

Re: Pointless speculation about Dr Who recoveries thread

Come on chaps you're making this all too serious. Can't we just keep it to a some fun rumours of what might be happening rather than bringing the 'for' and 'against' bitterness and endless posts as in DW forums. All of the 'who did what' posts are futile (full stop in my opinion) until a time when ...

Re: Pointless speculation about Dr Who recoveries thread

What exactly was the point of the press embargo until midnight? It's common practice for press releases to have an embargo. This is so that the news they contain hits all newspapers and other media outlets at the same time, generating the maximum publicity. BBC Worldwide naturally wanted to maximis...

No, the BBC denied it too, although it's hard to google their statement now because other search results take over. I don't think some word play or that sort of trickery makes it any better. I've been following this saga very closely, and I don't recall seeing any BBC denial, so we'll have to agree...

Re: Pointless speculation about Dr Who recoveries thread

I don't get it. I'm a DW fan, and I'm delighted about the return of "Web Of Fear" and "Enemy Of The World". I can't even begin to get angry about information being 'kept from fans', though. They told us in the end. They gave us the episodes, which is far more important. Nice, saved episodes, cleane...
