FWIW The Railway Children (1967) is re-released on dvd from Spirit Entertainment next Monday. I have to admit I'm very fond of it, ever since seeing the previous video and dvd release from DD Video around 2002.

Actually a few years before BBC2 showed most of the colour episodes Bravo showed 26 episodes from the first series while they were still a cable only channel. Unfortunately Bravo just bought a package of 26 seemingly unaware that just 3 more would have allowed them to show the first season complete...

So far the complete Series 4 on blu-ray is up for pre-order on MovieMail in the UK (November 10) and the French edition is up for pre-order on Amazon.fr (November 12). No further details AFAIK.

I'll second the suggestions in this thread and add two pieces of Greek theatre: BBC2's 1986 Sophocles trilogy, The Theban Plays (Oedipus the King, Oedipus at Colonus and Antigone) and Oresteia, the Serpent Son (1979). Haven't even seen an episode of Star Trek in decades, but that was still a nasty and witless piece.

The Dutch Series 1 set is episodic, though sadly their Series 2 set is the Margot Eavis edit. The complete Series 1 and Series 2 US Region 1 set is entirely episodic.
