Re: "ITC Entertained the World" - podcast

Hi Left Field, thanks for the positive feedback about the podcasts - the next one is on Strange Report. We do hope to cover all of the ITC series, those both well-known and those that are lesser known, we are also planning to cover some of the ITC films and do some 'specials' but I'm keeping the det...

Re: "ITC Entertained the World" - podcast

Thanks Fatcat - in terms of series that didn't make it, we did a bit of a post-mortem on The Zoo Gang. The listening figures for that podcast are about half compared to the rest of the episodes so I'm not sure if it's because it's a lesser known series or if we were maybe a bit too honest in our th...

Re: "ITC Entertained the World" - podcast

Haven't listened to Podcasts for a few years as the ones I listened to in the past I have found many of them to be rambling and uneven in both sound quality and subject. But Mr Jaz, just broke the 'ITC entertained' ice with your B/W Saint subject and thoroughly enjoyed it. You and your posse have c...

Re: Threads (DVD Release) - A Few Thoughts

Several weeks back I finally got around to watching the DVD release of the nuclear holocaust drama "Threads" . I thought I'd share some of my thoughts on the production. Over the years I've heard and read much about this one-off drama but had never seen it until recently. I don't recall this ever b...

Re: The Glory Days of Cult TV Fanzines - Is There Interest S

Are there no privately taken 'behind the scenes' photos, by the crew or cast, that could be used, not only rare but Outside of ITV rights? I have always wondered about the TV Times archive, they may well have stills outside of the ones in the ITV archive, they certainly printed such stills from var...

Re: The Glory Days of Cult TV Fanzines - Is There Interest S

My reservations with the 'Unauthorised' route revolves around the use of imagery. At least an 'official' book means I can use ITC imagery without the worry of being pursued. There's a way around that in the use of original artwork. You could commission an artist to draw specific art for the book. A...

Re: The Glory Days of Cult TV Fanzines - Is There Interest S

Really1, it is very good indeed, I often drag out the binders for a read. Even more reason, to present us all with that much needed "Persuaders" book, filming dates and anecdotes, Moore and Curtis's relationship and just how often did Curtis stray from the script with ad-libs? There is a good choic...

Re: The Glory Days of Cult TV Fanzines - Is There Interest S

Fair point about "NATEOTL", it is understandably popular and it's rare appearance is to maintain the high quality of course. Also some interesting points from Jaz, it's obviously a shame that ITV's high costs mean the heady days of the glossy softback ( ala' "Randall And Hopkirk") are perhaps gone,...

Re: The Glory Days of Cult TV Fanzines - Is There Interest S

Actually, I think one of the big gaps in mags and books are the ITC series. There are so many books on TV shows, now, but not the ITC ones, yes there are one or two of the Anderson series covered, "Thunderbirds", "Captain Scarlet", "UFO" and "Space 1999", but otherwise, one on "Randall And Hopkirk"...

Re: The Glory Days of Cult TV Fanzines - Is There Interest S

As someone who produced a fanzine for many years, the internet really was the thing that killed TMA. My subscription list more than halved in one year and after years of putting my own money into it I just felt I couldn't justify it anymore. However, in the last year or so I have had a lot of people...

TMA 28 - print on demand

I'm considering the option of doing a print on demand version of TMA 28 and wondered if I could gauge how many of you would be interested in this. The trouble is that this is quite an expensive way to do it and we'd be probably looking about £5 for a copy. I know that this is not ideal but I thought...
