The Road - BBC Radio 4 Drama

Not sure if this has been broadcast before.
I hear good things about this play by Nigel Kneale - https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0000y1d

Nightfall - Radio4Extra

Just a heads-up to any fans of the 1980s Canadian (CBC) Radio Horror program 'Nightfall'. The complete servies exists online of-course, but great to hear it in glorious TX quality.

Re: Backing up DVDs to Hard Drive

If you're a Mac user like me, then MDRP works a treat. It keeps all the Video TS folder structures in tact so it behaves exactly like the original DVD.

Re: 50 Years of Look North

Thanks for the heads-up. I know that BBC Radio Leeds are trailing their 50 Years programs too, asking listeners for any recordings they may have kept.

The Littlest Hobo - I could have sworn this was Australian, but turns out it's Canadian. "There's a voice, that keeps on calling me.."

BBC Radio - Emergency CD

So, I was listening to BBC Radio Leeds this morning and the studio was experiencing 'technical difficulties' so were unable to play music from their playlist. Instead, the presenter chose a track at random from the 'Emergency CD'. The presenter didn't know the track name of the music played (which I...

Re: "Struck by lightning" (1979)

I remember running home from Middle School to watch this. So it must have been on about 3:30 ish. I think it must have been at least 1981 as I didn't go to that school until then. I remember it only had a short run on tele but myself and another friend at school loved it. I lived then (and now) in t...

Re: Twin Peaks new series!

Interesting, as I am re-watching the first season at the moment. I saw it when it first came out in 1990. Amazing television. I also remember watching The Late Show discussion that followed the pilot episode when I was at Art School a year later. [BBvideo 560,340]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3FL...

Re: UK v US episodic running times

I'm hate this DVD conversion you get with NTSC to PAL. I find that I have to play most of my US DVDs on a computer using software like VLC Player that allows you to manually adjust the playback speed to compensate. A playback speed of 0.96 does the job.

Re: Twenty years of Radio 5 Live

I remember Radio 5 when it hosted late night 50s radio shows like Nightbeat. This was around 1990. Fantastic stuff, pre-internet days.

Midnight Caller.
Don't know if it's like Shoestring where they have to arrange royalties for any music played on the show before a DVD release. Would love to see some of these episodes again.

I actually liked the 1936 one - I mean the fonts and the overall design.

Re: "Old" Radio 5 programmes still running?

I liked the station during those early years. They played lots of 50s American Radio dramas like Night Beat that I really enjoyed. I can't remember 606 though. Also, didnt it turn into a round-the-clock Gulf War station in 1991 or was that Radio 4.

Re: PR: Classic Ghost Stories [bfi]

Fantastic! I remember watching these over Xmas '86 and I'd already read most of the stories by then. Powell was the perfect reader for these tales and up to now, I had to put up with the aweful YouTube quality versions online.
