Re: Public information Films/PSAs
Can we include "Robbie"...? It shocked me in the late 1970s and it still haunts me to this day.

Alright, I'm assuming this is OK. The first lot is at https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/183725137637 and the second is at https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/183729410491
I'll put some more comics up in a few days. I'm also selling some SF stuff - Dr Who, Blakes 7, Star Trek etc.

Rather than presume that its OK and get a rap over the knuckles, could I ask if its OK to mention my EBay listing for vintage comics? I've just put some 1978/9 Whizzer and Chips up but I have several hundred more to list, which I'll do over the coming weeks (mainly W&C, although there's Cheeky, Batt...

With the big haul of off-air pop music recordings, KAL have been swamped. I'm sorry if they're not moving fast enough for people's pet projects.

Re: Bowie recovery after digitisation disaster
I'm very sceptical of this. It assumes that the tapes were kept until the archives were being digitised, which would be early 1990s at best. The junkings probably happened in the 1970s.

Re: "Morecambe And Wise: The Lost Tapes"
Back in the day when they were trying to recover Episode 2 (there's a wonderful BBC blog about the progress so far), i seem to remember Philip Morris suggesting that he may have another copy. I assume that he'd found these but hadn't confirmed the numbers. He also said he'd check on his recovered G...

There were apparently two editions of M&W recovered and the Steptoe was "My Old Man's A Tory", but now in much better quality.

Re: Missing TV Audio
On the Kaleidoscope Facebook page last year, some one said that an audio clip of the Black and White Minstrel show was found in a charity shop and when the discoverer told the shop of this fact, they remarked that, "if they'd known what was on it they'd have thrown the tape away outright and not sol...

Re: First television screening of Universal Horrors
Slightly off topic, but when my brother went off to the pub on a Friday or Saturday night, he used to let me watch his portable B&W TV in his bedroom, and late at night were a series of horror films (late 1970s/early 80s on BBC2?). Oh the joy. Many films I have seen only one: Zoltan, Hound of Dracul...

Re: Star Trek- Original BBC transmissions
This thread brings back many happy memories! I recall that the announcer said, just before "The Man Trap" in 1984 that the BBC were about to "beam up the whole Star Trek series" so I thought the 4 banned episodes would be included. They weren't. When ITV showed a TV-based quiz show with a brief inte...

Re: Star Trek- Original BBC transmissions
TV Zone did a feature of the differences between the BBC transmission of season 1 of Star Trek and the original versions. They noted that while the VHS releases c.1986 were complete, the reprise for part 2 of "The Menagerie" was missing, and thus missing this specially shot scene.

Yes , this was my first thought. Loved the way that a different song was sung based on what happened in the episode.

How did we know Susan didn't tell others of her acronym before she and the Doctor left? And then, a few years later, it had become adopted by Gallifrey society?

The second Doctor is out of character in the Three and Five Doctors. He was never pompous or arrogant during the 1960s and his sarcasm level was very low too.

I remember the documentaries in the mid 1980s. There was a striking sequence of a helicopter flight over the snow-covered Yorkshire moors while "Fantasia on a theme" was played.
