Re: "ITV 60"

From Network's website: "What a 60 years it’s been for ITV. Since the summer of 1955 they have delivered superb dramas, hilarious comedies and thought-provoking documentaries to living rooms across the UK. Over the years we’ve released a plethora of genuinely classic ITV titles (Coronation Street, T...

Those three went through the BBFC back in the early 90s when the handful of UK videos were released.
*slaps head* Good point.

Re: 40% off 1,600 Network DVDs.Ends July 3rd.

Sounds like when you logged on previously the system thought you were outside the UK and didn't add VAT (i.e. £2.40). I don't think Network would change prices during a sale. Could be. Odd that it would think I was outside the UK, though! Network shipped this on Thursday and it arrived on Friday. T...

Re: The Man From UNCLE Season 1 [Warner]

While I have seen most of the colour episodes from the time they were shown on BBC2 in the 90s, I haven't seen most of S1, which is all B+W. The only way of doing so was to buy the videos that came out with 2 episodes per tape. These included 'The Project Strigas Affair' (with Shatner and Nimoy pre-...

Re: 40% off 1,600 Network DVDs.Ends July 3rd.

I'm being very careful this time. I have been known to re-buy titles that have been on my large "to watch" pile. I have been resisting the sale for a couple of weeks, but Randall and Hopkirk for £12 is awfully tempting. Finally plumped for this yesterday, only to see the price had gone up to £14.40...

The Man From UNCLE Season 1 [Warner]

No thread for this, so I'm starting one. We are FINALLY getting this series released on Region 2. I've been waiting for fifteen years! As a child I used to watch this in the early 1990s on BBC2's Friday night 'cult zone'. When I heard about the Region 1 'briefcase' set in America, I assumed a UK rel...

He-Man new 2-CD soundtrack (La La Land Records)

This thread could arguably go in music but He-Man is definitely archive television so I'm posting it here.... La La Land Records in the US - a mail order soundtrack label - has released a 2-CD set of the soundtrack to 80s cartoon He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. The music was composed by Shuk...

Re: How to use search?

Perhaps you could try an advanced search on google, using "how we used to live" and then the domain mausoleumclubforum.org.uk. Hope that helps. I'd wondered about this as a possibility, but I'd tried it before suggesting it, and it doesn't work because Google doesn't index the contents of the forum...

Re: PR: Look and Read - The Boy from Space [bfi]

Just wanted to say how wonderful it is to see this out on DVD. I assumed it was too obscure to merit a release, but the BFI obviously thought otherwise, and I am so grateful for it! This was the Look and Read series that I wanted to see again, so I'm lucky that they chose this one and not one of the...

Re: Moondial DVD Release

I bought this a couple of weeks ago. I used to have the VHS but sold it when that format was on the way out, expecting Moondial to pop up on DVD pretty quickly. Turns out I had to wait a long time, but it was worth it! There are many programmes I watched as a child that I have seen again in recent y...
