"Hi, my names Catrina!"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUK8FurQBfs This is a thing of beauty! The original Pink Windmill Kids from 1984 have recreated a dance routine first seen in the first episode of the live series for Comic Relief this year. The attention to detail is amazing, from near perfect moves to copying what t...

BBC and ITV News from 23rd November 1963

Does the BBC and ITV hold full archive recordings of the aftermath of the Kennedy assasination? I know it's well documented in the US, but never seen anything from the BBC or ITV. I'm only asking this because i found a reel to reel tape from what i pursume to be from the 23rd November 1963 of a news...

Re: "Top Of The Pops" 1982

Micheal Sundin appeared a few weeks ago along with Peter Powell, a few years later he went on to present Blue Peter (but only for around 6-9 months as the public didn't like him)

Re: Boss Cat

A local paper here in Stevenage ran into trouble in 1971 when it was launched as the "Stevenage Sun", only lasted a few issues after a complaint from a Mr Rupert Murdoch who owned "The Sun" at the time, so they changed the name to the "Stevenage Comet"

Music still plays while the "Top Cat" caption is on screen, can just about remember the jump at the end.

This is the nearest reconstruction of the BBC version, i remember the crash/jump sounded worse than this!

Well that was a plesent surprise, just found a hidden egg with half an hour of outtakes from the documentary!

Go to the Extras page...

Highlight the "ON LOCATION GOFFS OAK", then click to where the picture of the barrier is, it should turn red and you get the egg!

Re: PR: Timeslip: The Complete Series [Network]

PDF's could've done with having the complete Timeslip comic strip from Look-In. A bit of restoration work wouldn't of gone amiss, still irkes me that Carlton saw fit to zoom in and out of the break bumpers! (are we missing any of the picture due to this?) Liked the extras, and the book makes up for ...

I had the pleasure of joining Roger on the way home from Birmingham to Euston (until we got seperated on the train!), but met up again for a while at Euston. Loved watching "The David Hamilton Show" last night, though they need to sort out the sound as it's as if they are in a biscuit tin! Crossroads is being shown from the earliest episode, so it'll only be in b/w for a few weeks then the colour episodes start...this is where i see Big Centre TV getting...

Re: Top of the Pops 1980

For BBC4 to show a near constant yearly repeat for 4 years is an achivement in itself. I'm not too bothered about the Savile episodes being withdrawn, but i am slightly irked by the DLT ones. And what's going to happen when Jonathan King gets his weekly look at music from the US on the show in a few...

Re: Top of the Pops 1980

I wonder if BBC4 will accidently air the pilot edition of TOTP that was made during 1980? Pardon? Why would they make a pilot of a show that had been on for 16 years?? During the musicians strike they made an experimental show to try out new ideas (mainly the huge background screen), they showed cl...

Van Der Valk had an afternoon showing in the 70's (not sure if they were repeats though)

I'd love to see "Rooms" on DVD, it's one of the few shows i remember watching with my mum when i was a kid.

Will the people who correct edits allow edits which tidy up titles?

A good example is some of the early editions of "Blue Peter" come under the title "Children's Television Blue Peter", i've corrected it to just "Blue Peter" as i find the long title not in keeping to the rest of the series!

I'm thinking of starting up a "Genome Project Spelling Mistakes" page on Facebook, their are a few corkers...Ronnie Hazlehirst is renamed Bonnie Hazlehi'rst...and "The Flumps" is renamed "The Rumps"!

The Paul Temple episode "Cue Murder!" had a fictional show (the name escapes me for now!), it was a cross between Whodunnit and Crimewatch...it even had it's own VT clock that flashed up on screen for a few seconds!

Re: Old TV Listings

Is the Genome Project just for digitising the listings from the Radio Times? I've noticed that The Times Database has listings for the test transmissions of Television from around the late 20's to early 30's that the RT doesn't include...is it worth the hassle of sending edits of these to them? I'm ...
