Yes. or at least a TV movie-length version of it will be made available to networks shortly.videoking wrote:Are they ever going to release the last pilot version that they made that had the Moore and Ogilvy cameos in it??? Pity if it was left to rot on a shelf somewhere.

Re: ‘The Saint’ Again As a Possible New Franchise
It's very easy to be optimistic this early in the prouction cycle but I've spoken at length to the producers and they're very keen to honor the original character whilst bringing it up to date. And the deal is such that they have a fairly tight window to get it in to production...

Re: Lady on a Train 1945.
I'm well aware of Bill Bryson's comments and I've never really bothered to respond to them because quite frankly, life is too short.... But in summary: Reclusive? Erm no. Or at least it's a very strange recluse who would make weekly visits up to London where he would visit publishers and friends, en...

Re: Lady on a Train 1945.
Film was released 17th August that year.
Charteris was fired from the film after a year in development, hence the final script by Beloin & O'Brien. But in his initial contract he kept the book rights, hence the publication.

Yes, but it's nothing to do with reading from left to right. More to do with the infuence of Stealers Wheel; "clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right..."

Re: Endemol and other ravenous beasts
It depends on the company. Some, like Netflix, seems to be quite good at letting the creatives do what they've been hired to do. Others, who shall remain nameless, seem to want to refer every decision to a generic media executive who doesn't actually reside in the same country, and that's when thing...

Re: The Saint starring Adam Raynor
The pilot cost too much to make to sit on the shelf. You will get to see it, but how and when will only be decided once we know if the ITV plans are going to go ahead.

On the subject of bad CGI...have you seen the stuff in Castle where he allegedly goes abroad? Or rather so very obviously doesn't? It's unfortunately a real laugh out loud moment in what is usually a high quality show. I know it's all down to budget but it amazes me that we can come up with the tech...

Both. We've got a lot of interest from both the UK and the US but everyone's waiting to see the pilot before making a commitment. Plus there's plenty of international interest as well.

Re: The Saint
I loved Return of the Saint. Because of my age Ian was the Saint I grew up watching so for me he is the best TV Saint, whereas Roger's just some bloke called Bond.
It was Ian's show that lead me to the books and thirty-five years later here we are!
