Re: Shoestring Series 2
same situation here. I had similar issues with The Crunch and Other Stories as the poster above, again receiving it after I queried it. I had an email for Network on 18th stating my order for Shoestring had shipped. I‘d not received it within the usual few days it takes, so queried it with them. Her...

Bruce Lewis and Guy Thomas of TWW appear uncredited in media briefing and News report scenes,
along with TWW cameras in shot.
Is there no existing "on location" type news report in the ITV/ITN archive?

Re: Archive TV you dreamt
I had a dream a while back I was in a shop that was devoted to British archive television. It had every single Network DVD. I visited Wells yesterday, and to my delight and amazement found the shop in my dream. And yes, virtually every Network DVD was there. Armchair Theatre in the window!!!! Is th...

Re: bfi Flipside releases
I don't know whether they're being campaigned at the moment but the non-current Flipside releases all seem to be going for eight quid at Amazon . The range are on a Q2 promotion, with trade prices holding until 28th June. From a first glance it looks like Blue Rays are cheaper than DVDs. This range...

Re: Title Sequence Cock-Ups
In 1994 HTV News (West) introduced a new title sequence with aerial shots from across the region overlaid onto a map. Unfortunately they'd used Ordnance survey maps which were Crown Copyright and hadn't obtained permission. A Pixelated version (blurring the map) was used for a short period soon afte...

Re: Google Streetview and Maps Archive TV locations thread
From THIS [/url] location at the rear of the Northam studios you can also still see pre/post demolition by toggling back/forward. Am I correct in thinking that the block of portakabins to the right were a hangover from TVS taking over the Southern site, and those refered to in the Stilgoe song about...

Re: Network Sale 3rd to 16th of December
Parcel arrived with a couple of items missing (out of stock). Sapphire & Steel and Crown Court must be very popular choices! Yodel left the package at the side of my house, sliding it under the side gate. It sat there all day in pouring rain and when I found it the cardboard box had almost disinteg...

Re: Archive TV on BBC 2 Daytime?
Definitely a nice piece of news and also delighted there are to be more new daytime drama serials, as Land Girls and Moving On were splendid. The problem with archive repeats is the lack of faith they have in showing something people don't already know. I mean how lovely would it be to have some Th...

RIP
No mention made that he was the "Voice" of the BBC Micro, providing phrases for the Speech synthesiser add-on.
Treasure Hunt was repeated on Channel 4 after original broadcast, Sunday afternoons if I recall.

Re: Sweet Cigarette Cards
Although a commercial site http://www.londoncigcard.co.uk site is a very good resource. That rings a bell... might have been them I got the Space Patrol set from for £8 back in 2002. The Golden Wonder TV ALL STARS set at £2.00 looks good value, think I've a couple of these kicking around somewhere....
