McGoohan certainly wasn't an all-round creative genius, but he was an actor with a highly distinctive presence and (obviously) a willingness to take risks. He's also one of those people who never recover from their biggest success.

I'd be sorry if the world ended before Scotland Yard comes out. (Just certificated by the BBFC - I see it does include "Wall of Death".)

The actress Clea Lewis got her first TV part in an episode of Doogie Howser MD, and said years later how glad she was to get something else so that wasn't at the top of her CV. Anyone feeling the same tonight?

Mention of archive schools programmes back at the old place made me think today, that's a TV genre that seems to be totally absent from DVD. You'd think Network or the BFI would have given it a try.
