What about Studio and No Excuses? Two band-in-a-mansion series shown on ITV at almost the same time (1983), both pretty dreadful but I'd pay up if they came out on DVD.

Re: Changing the time

Channel 4's The Friday Alternative became The Thursday Alternative for one week and ran a caption: "You know it's Thursday! We know it's Thursday! But do you know how much it would cost to change the titles?"

Re: One-series wonders

If a show's successful there'd have to be a very strong reason not to do a second series. The most likely one would be a star unwilling or unable to do it.(Apparently there would have been more than one series of Strange Report, but the producers wanted to move the whole production to the US and Ant...

Re: New Twilight Zone

When I've seen the 80s Twilight Zone lately I've thought it looked it cheap* and murky, but maybe the Horror Channel isn't the best place to watch it. Has anyone got it on DVD?

(*But it was cheap, especially the later episodes which were made to get enough for a syndication package.)

Re: Camera script vs. final script question (1960s)

For donkeys years the BBC had a special unit, based in the ground floor offices to the immediate left of the entrance to Lime Grove Studios. A typing pool of ladies of a certain age (the term "matronly" springs to mind) worked 14 hours a day in the Telediphone Unit (2 shifts, 1000-2200 & 1200-0000)...

Re: New agreement between Network and the BBC

I'm confused does this mean Network can gain access to the BBC archives as of 10 years ago? In their early days Network released several BBC titles which have been unavailable for a long time and can now be re-released, I think. And they'll be putting out things not previously released, i.e. Johnny...

Division 4

Having discovered Eaton Films' DVD shop via the Bluey thread I thought I'd give Division 4 a look and am enjoying it. I don't remember it ever turning up on British TV, perhaps because it's a mix of film and VT rather than all-film?

I've cited this before, but one we'll never see: the pilot for Adam Adamant Lives had a different Georgina Jones.

In its original form, the pilot episode of The Twilight Zone wasn't narrated by Rod Serling.
