"The quality on VHS is not something I think anyone would want to go back to." However, she added that a niche market for accessing VHS content, perhaps for archival purposes, would probably mourn the loss of VCRs if they became unavailable.
I still maintain some s-vhs machines to transfer none commercial VT content. This is becoming less now a day sadly, however I did move some Yorkshire TV studio outtakes material for a retired VT editor 18 months ago.
I have four s-vhs/vhs machines in a bay for transfer work. One of them is a Samsung world wide standard machine which will replay/record any TV system standard in the world and which has proved its worth over the years. I just hope the machine keep going!
