BBC is reporting the death of Christopher Martin-Jenkins, former BBC Cricket Correspondent and Test Match Special commentator, at the age of 67.

This is very sad indeed. He was a consummate commentator of Test cricket and TMS will simply not be the same without him. He towered over his peers in his knowledge of the game. A second hammer blow to cricket lovers in a week.
I agreed with you from the first about the danger, but now I think you're utterly mistaken.

Dreadful news. Whenever he started a commentary stint on TMS you knew you were in safe hands and could just sit back and enjoy it. A quiet authority and understated sense of humour, just perfect. He will be missed.
