Sad News. His on-screen appearances, his programmes and especially his books about TV were all brilliant. RIP.

The earliest I remember was his scathing song about the Murdoch takeover of The Sun newspaper, well it was a NEWS paper before the takeover.

RIP, Clive.

Another man of many parts. I particularly used to look forward to his end-of-year specials on BBC1 - New Year's Eve was never quite the same after they stopped!

A giant figure (at times literally). His television criticism for the Observer was not only pioneering but remains essential reading to this very day.

My own take, for what it's worth: http://www.thejudge.me.uk/Not_blog/Not_ ... 191127.htm

You can hear his witty and erudite words in your head courtesy of that very distinctive voice of his, made his remarks all the funnier for it.

"Clive James On TV", brilliant show.
