Nicky Henson (1945-2019)

Post by Controller 2957 »

Not totally unexpected as he'd been ill with cancer for over a decade. The fact that he's perhaps best known for his role as Mr Johnson in the Fawlty Towers episode, The Psychiatrist, belies a much more extensive career on both the big and small screens. Notably took over the role of Harvey Moon from Kenneth Cranham in the 1995 revival of Shine on Harvey Moon Also made notable appearances in Downton Abbey and EastEnders amongst many others.
You see, no-one... NO-ONE escapes the new world!!

One of those you always think of as young I thought.

Memorable (just can't remember the title lol) in that hilariously wacky film about frogs, motorbikes and Beryl Reid ..an absolute guilty pleasure.

So upsetting to read now he has suffered ill health all those years after entertaining us and keeping us for an hour or two from our own problems.

Yes, shocked to hear this, agree, he always seemed forever young.

That film..."Psychomania", a very odd film indeed!

He knew John Cleese, of course, pre-"FT", as they were both in "The Frost Report".

Great Actor.
