A smashing actor, superb as Watt, a character that outlived the parent show, "Z Cars".
His turns in "The Avengers" and "Doctor Who" were great too.

And a cheeky bit of casting when he turned up as the (unnamed) Chief Superintendent in The Detectives!

I will always associate him with ‘Miracle Grow’. Every time I use it I cannot help but think of his advert.

I'll always see him as a great police officer and also in A for Andromeda. The name Watt might hint at the well-known Conan Doyle supporting character. RIP.

Which Barlow acknowledges on Jack the Ripper, when he calls him “my dear Watt.”Private Frazer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 6:32 pmI'll always see him as a great police officer and also in A for Andromeda. The name Watt might hint at the well-known Conan Doyle supporting character. RIP.
I’ll also put in a word for his role in a shocking Crown Court story. He’s excellent, as always.
