Post by Nigel Stapley »

Translation from the report at BBC Cymru (https://www.bbc.co.uk/cymrufyw/55423886) (as I haven't been able to find a report in English yet):

"The actor Clive Roberts has died, aged 76.

He was best known for playing the part of George in the popular comedy series 'Fo A Fe'.

In 1990, he was convicted of murdering his partner, the actress Elinor Wyn Roberts, in her home in Y Felinheli.

He spent 12 years in prison.

He also played the part of Cliff James in 'Pobol Y Cwm' between 1974-1979 and Bili 'Conshi' in the BBC production, 'Un Dau Tri'.

He spent a period in the 1980s as a drama lecturer at Bangor University.

Mr Roberts, who had been living in Trefor, died in Ysbyty Gwynedd on 24 December after a short illness.

A private service will be held on Wednesday, 6 January."
