Hello again
Hello again
To celebrate the very eleventh anniversary of it coming into being, The Mausoleum Club (pronounced Mow-zo-ley-um for those not familiar with it) has moved to shiny new digs.
Unfortunately, efforts to migrate all the posts from the old forum to the new one were completely coalboxed, so the old forum remains where it is but read-only, as a reference work at which all mankind can marvel.
So here we are. Again. Play nice, mind the furniture and enjoy yourselves.

Re: Hello again
Congratulations ! Looks much cleaner so far, and I have finally been able to get the UK off the end of my username not having lived there for many years.
It took me 8 years to reach my HD status, I guess I am going have to start up that long road again...

Re: Hello again
Nice to be here. A smooth transition. Now to build up a new Google Streetmap archive tv location thread ;)

Re: Hello again
Indeed. It's a bit of a barst that we couldn't migrate everything across but, it seems, these things are built so as not to be very interchangable, and the bits of software that allegedly migrate data between boards really screwed things up.Clive wrote:It took me 8 years to reach my HD status, I guess I am going have to start up that long road again...

Hi,
This is the second time in a month that a forum I subscribe to has disappeared up its own existence.
I hope it's not me!
Onwards...

Re: Hello again
Everything is all new and shiny! Painless transition but shame about the posts not being transferred. Hello all :)

Nice to be here, and glad the old place is staying as a reference - many fascinating insights into TV history preserved there!

Re: Hello again
My transfer has gone more-or-less smoothly. Yeah, pity about the previous MC (do we call it MCI now?) being in a limbo for the moment but most of the MCers know enough SF to go along with that; I hope that the MCI posts and threads can be accessed again.
@Mr Wolf
Thanks for running the first Mausoleum Club for over ten years - I hope (again) that you can continue doing so for as long as you can stand it...

Re: Hello again
Well, that all seemed easy enough, look forward to continuing being informed, educated and entertained here.
Re: Hello again
Funny how it looks different but still feels like home.
Good old Mausoleum Club.

Good luck with the new forum, Mr W!

Actually this also the second of my forums (fora? Pedants R us FTW!) to change in the last month...I'm not taking it personally though...
Good luck with the new digs, Mr W!

Re: Hello again
Funny coincidence. Only this week I was saying to Mrs 625 that my master-plan on winning the Euro-Millions will be to buy out whoever owns the freehold on the former London Necropolis Company railway station in Waterloo, and create an official actual physical Mausoleum Club. She was quite tolerant of the idea, once I'd explained that my Radio TIme collection would naturally be relocated to the library there.
I guess this will do in the meantime.

Re: Hello again
I find the View New Posts option does pretty much the same job, certainly easier than going straight into the Advanced Search optionReginald Molehusband wrote:Any way to show Today's Posts as on the old site?

Re: Hello again
Very nice job - thanks for all your work.
Re: Hello again
It came as a shock to me last night, but I'm back in.
All looks ok to me...much better than when the old SFX forum changed to the abomination it has now. I used to post there all of the time, but the new forum is so user-hostile I can't be bothered with it.
Right.....who's going to start a Jimmy Savile thread then? ;o)
....I'm Joking...I'm joking!!!!

If I were creating the world I wouldn't mess about with butterflies and daffodils. I would have started with lasers, eight o'clock, Day One!
Re: Hello again
Well, here we all are again! :) Many thanks for the new digs!
Re: Hello again
Congratulations on your new 'home'. I'm pleased, after several years of not being able to join the 'club' to at last be here. I've wanted to say thank you to many of you for the compliments paid to my work on the 'From ATVLAND In Colour' DVD last year, but have had to leave it to colleagues. So a little late, but Thank you!.

I notice that someone who's been banned from the old forum has tried joining the new forum.
A least all the usual suspects have joined again.

I thought something was wrong when I found no entries on the Today's Posts page on the old site.
Glad to find the new site and re-registered without a hitch.
