Patronage
Re: Patronage
That's ever so kind of you but I couldn't bring myself to take any money from anyone, really. It was my fool idea to set this site up in the first place so I should continue to pay the price!
Where people can - and do - contribute however is by continuing to make this place an interesting destination for people to visit. More ethereal and less fiscal, admittedly, but without that very real contribution this forum would be of little value to anyone.

Re: Patronage
I originally had my websites - http://www.tech-ops.co.uk and http://www.ltfc.org.uk - at a UK hosting company which didn't seem to want to keep up with the times and charged lots for not much. I moved to http://www.ixwebhosting.com about 8 years ago. They are based on a grim industrial estate in Columbus Ohio - http://goo.gl/maps/pbk0s - but they do a good job for not much money - $3.95 per month for unlimited everything seems ok to me. They seem to be just as fast as my old UK connection even though they are nearly 4000 miles further away.
The cost is at a level that I don't mind doing my bit for history, and I follow the same sentiment as Mr Wolf - it's my own fault.
