Hmmm.
I wonder who made that?

Any opinions yet? I haven't got it but will grab it at some stage.

Got my set yesterday, but haven't yet decided which episodes to inflict on Mrs 625. Not To Lay a Ghost, that's for sure!

I love To Lay a Ghost.

I thought the ghost sequences were well done on video, although I have not seen it for many years.Simon36 wrote:I love To Lay a Ghost.

I read an observation once that there's about thirty minutes of good material topped and tailed with five and ten respectively of misogyny, with the last ten being particularly repulsive. The kindest comment I've heard recently is that it's, "of its time."fatcat wrote:I thought the ghost sequences were well done on video, although I have not seen it for many years.Simon36 wrote:I love To Lay a Ghost.
Rather amusingly, a Michael J Bird fan site once condemned by views on the episode as being, "hysterically over-the-top," but then they would, wouldn't they?

I was teasing you slightly by saying I loved it Nick, I must admit. Because I remember you writing that watching it was like "picnicking in a sewer".
I thought the two "staircase" sequences were excellent, for what it's worth.Apart from that one dodgy line from Peter Barkworth, isn't Deathday far the more mysogynistic episode?

Watching that trailer made me realise I've never seen most episodes in anything other than dreadful quality.

Re: PR: Out of the Unknown [bfi]
Finally got round to ordering this - at £34.99 including postage from Zavvi, it would have been rude not to! The set arrived today, so I'm looking forward to exploring the series properly, having only watched a handful in varying quality over the years. I'm mainly interested in the more horror-themed Series 4 episodes, but I won't be ignoring the earlier episodes. The series as a whole, plus the various extras, all look mouth-watering.

Can't refuse at that price. I've never seen any of these. I'll have to buy a 'BBC 2 set' so I can watch them properly!
