Came and went, once upon a time, long, long ago.
Because of what he did, his work has been and will always be a part of broadcasting archives, all over the world.
Because of what people did and do with those archives, often - too often - at the expense of other ones, his work provokes very mixed feelings amongst broadcasting archivists, historians, collectors, viewers and listeners.
Nevertheless, some of his work, however it survives, whether as only listings or through to full recordings, is a fundamental element of the world's broadcasting archives.
Regards to Mr WS today.

Better not mention that fact on world social media today or in eleven days time :)

He will be relevant when all the archive TV shows are forgotten (and if the idea that there are only limited plots is true, he wrote them all anyway).

Except that he adapted others' plots.didi-5 wrote:He will be relevant when all the archive TV shows are forgotten (and if the idea that there are only limited plots is true, he wrote them all anyway).

Not to mention that most of his plays would probably have been lost without the folio publication after his death.
