I've got Judy Garland on the brain now! This is a really well-known anecdote and yet I can't track down the answer on Google...

Who concluded an interview with Liza Minnelli by saying "Judy Garland, thank you very much"? I've a funny feeling it was on Nationwide or some programme like that.

Hmm, maybe not as well-known as I thought. Is it an urban myth? I'm not sure whether I saw it myself - I may just have heard about it second-hand.

It was Hugh Scully. The clip can be seen in the last ever edition of Nationwide, available in the usual place.

Ah, thanks. Thought I was going mad for a moment!

EDIT: I'd forgotten her response to his gaffe, which was "I'll tell Liza". Very quick.
