Crossovers?
Re: Crossovers?
A very recent one was last Christmas's Peter Pan Goes Wrong, where the finale travelled through the BBC News studio, Eggheads and the Teletubbies!

The Detectives saw crossovers with The Paradise Club and Bergerac.
You see, no-one... NO-ONE escapes the new world!!

Endeavour Series 5 episode 3, sees the detective visit Crossroads Motel in Kings Oak.
I never knew there was so much in it!
Re: Crossovers?
Didn't, "Scooby Doo" feature guests from other cartoon characters on occasions? I seem to recall the cartoon Laurel and Hardy characters appearing on an episode.

There was a very funny episode of Johnny Bravo when he hooked up with the gang.
Re: Crossovers?
It's been mentioned elsewhere about Endeavour's oblique, and sometimes less than oblique, references to other programmes. A character this week was Lady Creighton-Ward, while the next episode apparently has a Jeux Sans Frontières theme.Andrew 76 wrote:Endeavour Series 5 episode 3, sees the detective visit Crossroads Motel in Kings Oak.
Re: Crossovers?
There was also a chauffeur in it called Barker. There were also references to Mboto Gorge and Stuart-Hargreaves. I think they have found a trowel to lay it on with this series.Ian Wegg wrote:It's been mentioned elsewhere about Endeavour's oblique, and sometimes less than oblique, references to other programmes. Re: Crossovers?
A really oblique 'tip of the hat' was the episode concerning murders at swimming baths and one of the staff just about repeating Steve Coogan's mantra about "1986 nobody died" from "The Day Today" !
Re: Crossovers?
This week's Endeavour episode had a college porter called Mullion.
More in the spirit of the original post, Ellie Haddington reprised her Foyle's War character of shadowy MI5 officer.

Re: Crossovers?
Antonio Fargas - Huggy Bear in Starsky and Hutch, appeared in French cop show Cherif as Huggy Bear, albeit as a hallucination that only the eponymous Cherif (sherriff, gettit?) could see. The running gimmick of this show is that Cherif is a massive fan of old crime shows and films, and is forever quoting plots and lines, supposedly from actual episodes of many real series. On his office wall he has Shaft and Bullitt posters and a framed photograph of The Persuaders, and a Starsky and Hutch model car on his desk. The last episode of series 5 (a few weeks ago on TV5 Monde - English subtitles, or I wouldn't be watching it) even referenced Dempsey and Makepeace by name.

Re: Crossovers?
Charlie Endell (as played by Iain Cuthbertson) from 'Budgie' appeared in his own spinoff 'Charles Endell Esquire'.
Elisabeth Sladen played Sarah Jane Smith in 'Dr Who' then 'K9 and Company' and then 'The Sarah Jane Adventures'.
And then there are characters who skip between Casualty and Holby City....

Ah yes, Charles Endell Esquire. I loved the theme music to that show.TonyCurrie wrote:Charlie Endell (as played by Iain Cuthbertson) from 'Budgie' appeared in his own spinoff 'Charles Endell Esquire'.

If Terry Nation had got his way, the invading aliens at the end of the second season of Blake's 7 would have been the Daleks instead of the Andromedans.
Tom Baker and Gareth Thomas were also both keen for one of them to do a brief cameo appearance in the other's show but it was overruled.
Professor Quatermass was clearly referenced to during a conversation in the Dr Who serial Remembrance of the Daleks but the character didn't actually appear in person. I think the phrase was something like 'Bernard and his British Rocket Group'.
Re: Crossovers?
Daphne and Niles from "Frasier" guested in an episode of "Caroline In The City".

A Detective Chief Inspector Reaygo appears in an Ian Kennedy Martin episode of the BBC 2 series The Revenue Men in 1967, before reappearing in two serials Kennedy Martin wrote for Southern Television: Letters from the Dead in 1968 and The Capone Investiment in 1972/73.
In the Southern serials he's played by Glyn Owen, in The Revenue Men Noel Coleman takes the role, though Glyn Owen also appears in that episode.

There was a Rediffusion "Play Of The Week" at Christmas 1964 called "Deep And Crisp And Stolen" ( which still exists) starring Raymond Francis as Lockhart, he also plays the villain, the cast also included cameos from Patrick Allen/Sam Kydd representing "Crane" and also Kathy McGowan and Keith Fordyce, Michael Miles, Gerald Flood, Jimmy Hanley and Muriel Young.

Earlier in the thread, Brock mentioned Robert Gillespie playing lots of Police Sergeants.
He played D S Burke in two episodes of "Robin's Nest" and again in an episode of "George And Mildred", all by Cooke and Mortimer.

Patrick Cargill appears in the No Hiding Place episode "The Most Beautiful Room in the World" as Miguel Garetta, the character he played in A-R's series Top Secret.

Re: Crossovers?
A show about the M*A*S*H characters after they returned home to their normal lives sounds to me about as compelling as a series about Richard Kimble after he cleared his name and ended his life as a fugitive and returned home to resume his life as a normal doctor.
