The Gentle Touch: Tough, Mrs Rudge

I’ve been piecing together the remarkable story behind this affecting episode, which Talking Pictutes are showing tonight. Spoilers included, be warned.

A good episode, quite shocking, the two PJ Hammond ones were especially bleak I thought, you can see why they thought it a good idea to have some lighter ones, otherwise it gets too heavy and could be a turn-off, they did the same with "Juliet Bravo".

There was one episode of "Bergerac" from very late in the series, "A Man Of Sorrows" , a drugs tale set in London, possibly the bleakest one they did.

A great episode of "Gentle Touch" last week, with Louise Jameson, as one of a pair of animal rights activists, releasing a rabid dog.

Wonder if it was a case of Deja Vu for LJ, a while later, an episode of "Bergerac" she was in, featured animal rights activists releasing some monkeys with a deadly virus...different writer though.

Fascinating - I recently saw Lowri Ann Richards in a screening of Breaking Glass where she played the cute secretary of music promoter Derek Thompson. What a different role from this one in The Gentle Touch.
