Not at all, they will have been to get British viewers excited. And they did.

There's a wonderful thing on youtube where someone has mixed the profs music with the terry and june titles and vice versa. No matter how bad a day Ive had it makes me laugh.

I got the impression the second Professionals ( & The Sweeney too) opening sequences were meant to 'ape' shows like 'Starsky & Hutch' with 'all action' openings..... (The New Avengers USA/ Canada opening sequence compared to the British version did likewise)

the Professionals 'spoof' in a TV commercial was hilarious - one tells the other to drive the red car through a pile of empty carbord boxes (which duly go in all directions) because: 'it makes the car look good....!!' (wow !)

one gets out...then pauses (presumably as if credits would be added) - that was more a spoof of The Sweeney's second opening sequence....which in the 'Non Haskins' episode involved - in place of Garfield Morgan's credit - a suitable villainy 'blagger' running off...then STOPPING to look back (!) ...then run on until Regan & Carter grab 'im...

....and tough guy Jack Regan puts his fist into the camera....(yeah....)

If they are releasing The Professionals then maybe there's a chance of getting a decent and clean release of The New Avengers.

Is this a wind-up?
There is nothing whatsoever about the Profs on the network site.
I see this thread started on April 23rd, I expected it to say April 1st when I checked!

For a week or so when you went onto the network site a window popped up. When you clicked on it you got this:

It depends what browser you're using - for instance it doesn't show up in iOS but does in Firefox.

Thanks for the link Simon.

That is by far the highest resolution I have ever seen for this series. I am hopeful...

The whites always did look green- I thought it was because of a combination of crummy 70s decor and using the in house flourescent lighting.

I don't always rebuy, but this is a definite. I think it'll be a great tribute to a definitive British action series.
