I thought the 'Eurovision : Europe Shine A Light' broadcast on 16 May 2020 was excellent. Don't know if any new technology or effects were used but the music quality sounded better than ever. There were delays (as always) in live conversations. Mon's reprise and Israel's Hallelujah were my favourites. Graham did us proud. There was no competition of course but there's good news for 2021 :

Re: Eurovision 2020/21
I wasn't expecting much from last years programme, but I really enjoyed it and thought it was excellent.
Glad to know we are getting a competition this year, albeit a somewhat different one!

Which of the various Eurovision competitions are we to get this year? [/devils advocate].

Re: Eurovision 2020/21
The Eurovision website gives more information -
Rotterdam, the Netherlands at the Ahoy Arena.
18th, 20th and 22nd May.
Any country unable to attend can send a recorded live performance.
All countries will again be in the respective 2020 Semi Final.
Last years competitors may take part but with new songs; so James Newman should be taking part but not singing last years My last Breath.
The final scenario (regarding show/audience) is still open;
Scenario A: Normal
Scenario B: Socially distant at 1.5 meters
Scenario C: Separate shows pasted together
Scenario D: Lockdown - no audience
Presumably voting will be as normal.
It should be a welcome bit of entertainment!

It'll be weird with no audience, just like "Strictly" was, albeit with an obviously tiny audience compared to "Eurovision".
