Re: Palin Clangers

Re: Palin Clangers
I like the clip. Sadly, here in the states, we'll get The Shat narrating...

I still find that nugget of information unbelievable. What on earth are they thinking?!dprisoner wrote:I like the clip. Sadly, here in the states, we'll get The Shat narrating...
Re: Palin Clangers
Personally, I find the idea of Shatner narrating the Clangers more interesting than Palin.
Re: Palin Clangers
I liked the remark from Palin about "Clangers" having a 'Zen' dimension to it, it's true, it was calming and therapeutic, a cosy simplicity to their own little world.
Interesting remark in the comments section about the point of remaking it, if they are going to the trouble of recreating it as it was, 'Why not just repeat the original', but it does mean new stories, of course.
And I like the Anti-CGI feeling, I hope it grows.!...(even if it does seem to be confined to classic remakes, at the moment).

Re: Palin Clangers
Well, a week in and I'm enjoying it. I was initially a bit put off by the friendly blue sky, preferring the stark cosmic blackness of the original. It also all seemed a little over-lit, to the extent that even JN-T would approve of.
Those concerns were soon brushed aside however and I was quickly won over. They've really made an effort to keep as much of the original look as possible and it retains much of its charm. Vernon Elliott's musical contribution is sadly much missed though.

Haven't caught it yet.....really...a blue sky....that's a surprise.
Sadly, the music was always going to be a problem, (for those of us who are fans of the original) Vernon Elliot's music was perfect for it.
