"Inspector Montalbano"

Post by AndrewP »

What a delight to have a new episode of this to enjoy from BBC Four on Saturday night. Well up to the usual high standards. Definitely our favourite of the subtitled thrillers we've been offered in recent years.

All the best

If you enjoy 'Monty' as we call him, I would think you would also enjoy 'The Bridge' subtitled series currently available on the BBC iPlayer. Very high standard of production and acting.

We try most of BBC Four's imported shows and - yes - "The Bridge" is also extremely good. The other one that we really took to massively was "Borgen". But I think Montalbano - in both incatnations - remains our favourite. There's a vaguely surreal feel to it with all the deserted streets as if Vigata is some huge backlot. And the music is wonderful.

All the best

Andrew
