Funny You Should Ask

Post by Brock »

If you're interested in the history of broadcast comedy, then I recommend Funny You Should Ask - the quiz about comedy first broadcast on Radio 2 in the 70s and currently making its debut on Radio 4 Extra:

The chairman was Peter Jones and this week's panellists were Barry Cryer, John Junkin and Sid Colin. I couldn't help noting that they were already making jokes about Barry Cryer's age back in 1979, which is kind of ironic given that he's the only one of the four who's still alive!

R4X repeated a single edition last year - the existing thread is here...

Thanks for that - I must have missed it.

Another radio nostalgia quiz I'd love to hear on R4X is "On the Air", which ran on Radio 2 from 1984 to 1992, presented by David Rider. Don't think it was ever repeated on BBC7/Radio 7.
