Lost Boys musical oddity-Film version of People Are Strange

Post by Don Satchley »

During the post credits version of People Are Strange (played by Echo and the Bunnymen not The Doors) there is a big piano solo that does not appear in the Soundtrack version or any other versions I can find. Why? Its a good bit. Its an awesome film too imho. Your eating maggots Michael... ;)

It's a terrific film. Great fun, and with a very good cast.

You're referring to the scene at the beginning, I think, when the family first arrive in Santa Carla, and we see a montage of them looking about? The car journey, and then Michael getting his motorbike out of the car? Probably it was just an extension of the song, to allow it to fill the necessary time. I suppose they felt it didn't work as part of the song without the occumpanying visuals, so they included the single version on the soundtrack. The song was in the charts at the time, and I can't see them wanting to release it as a single with an extended break.
