"The Prisoner" - Ace paperbacks

Post by AndrewP »

Rather enjoyed two recent podcasts about the three novels based on the show published in 1969/70. Some nice original discussion about them in the first podcast:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJWItxZUS9U

and then a chat with Jean-Marie Stine ('Hank Stine') in the second (where the memories of the SF scene in the 1950s and 1960s is utterly fascinating!):

Hope they may be of interest to people.

All the best

I'm listening to the first of these now and it's a fascinating listen. Thanks for the recommendation.

"The Eternal Village" podcast

Post by AndrewP »

Very much being enjoying these. The two hosts have a nice approach - they've done prep, they contrast with each other, they explain their views and they communicate well. And they have some really good interviews in addition to a fresh take on old material.

The current podcasts are on the website:

https://www.theeternalvillage.org/

And all the back catalogue can be found here:

Hope other people may find them as enjoyable as I've done.

All the best

Really good edition this week. Lovely chat with Roger Goodman about the early days of the show's fandom (including Patrick McGoohan's comments at the recording of "Greatest Hits") and a massively enjoyable and spirited discussion of the glorious mess that is "Fall Out":

Just to flag up that the Eternal Village website has now been revamped and offers: "The Prisoner's Paradigm".

The website itself is described as 'an Arts & Education organization dedicated to celebrating the timeless topics, eloquent prose and striking visuals of the iconic TV series, The Prisoner.' The new section is an index to books, articles, documentaries, podcasts, videos, events, comics, etc. etc. and I thought I'd just note its existence in case it's of interest to others:
