How sad. Was only watching her a couple of days ago in the BBC Two repeats of "The Pallisers". And she's one of many reasons why "The Power Game" is so special. I remember Kathy from wardrobe at Central telling me about looking after Barbara Murray on "The Bretts". A nice, professional lady apparently.

I'll re-run "TPG" in her honour when I get home.

Yes she never seemed to be off screen at one time, but was always a treat to watch as she had charm and gravitas.
Then so to speak.. she didn't over stay her welcome and quietly left the party by the back door and slipped away into retirement.

Very sad news. I first became aware of her as Lady Cranleigh in "Doctor Who"s "Black Orchid" and remember being very struck by her. Then loved her in "The Bretts" - and in recent years had the great joy of discovering "The Power Game" and her magnificent turn as Lady Pamela Wilder, the perfect compliment to Patrick Wymark's towering performance. Very sorry that we've lost such a classy performer but what a wonderful legacy she's left.
