A piece of Rediffusion ephemera

Post by Razor Eddie »

Someone's done a nice job of giving Rediffusion a web presence

http://rediffusion.retropia.co.uk/

Since 1955 Rediffusion Television (originally Associated-Rediffusion) has been providing Independent Television programmes for the London area - Monday to Friday. Many of these programmes are also networked throughout the country. The staff averages around 1,400 people, of whom more than 900 are directly engaged in making programmes. Rediffusion Television receives no public funds, the programmes being financed entirely by the sale of advertisement time....
Contents may settle after packing.

Interesting, thanks for that!

Anything that keeps the great ITV companies alive, has got to be a good thing.

You might enjoy this associated (!) website containing various covers of Fusion, the company in-house magazine: https://fusion.rediffusion.london/

Incredible variety of styles, some reeking of the time they were designed and one sort of presciently featuring a stylised London-scape with St Pauls in the centre.

What a b***dy mess!
They may have made good television, but their magazine department definitely lacked a graphic designer!

That's what you get if you employ a bunch of disparate artists.

I rather like them, though I'll concede that the cover for Issue 31 is a bit shit. There's a few nice ones still to come, too.
