ISIRTA on 4Extra this Saturday morning
ISIRTA on 4Extra this Saturday morning
Just a quick heads up for the ISIRTA 3 hour special which will air this saturday morning on BBC Radio 4Extra from 9am. It will repeat at 7pm in the evening too. Introduced by Bill Oddie, expect 5 or 6 episodes plus some snippets from producer Humphrey Barclay and others. Sounds good !

Radio Times promises an unbroadcast recording of a warm-up session as well. I'm recording it.

Looking forward to this. I've just read that it will include the 25th anniversary edition, which I don't think I've heard since its original broadcast. The cast all played parodies of the characters they'd actually become, with David Hatch as a high-flying BBC executive, John Cleese as a reclusive film star and so on. Probably incomprehensible if you'd never heard the original series though!

Just tried ISIRTA with series one, episode one from 3rd April 1964 because its like getting earlier, extra episodes of The Goodies. It'll be good to listen to while at the computer. Also on Radio 4 Extra every so often of course; Series 3 on Fridays just now.

I thought the early ones were the best, seemed to run of steam for the last couple of series.
Graeme Garden was absent for a while in the 60's as he was doing a midwifery course, and here's a little fact to make you shout 'Who Cares', in the first TV episode of "Doctor In The House" series 2, Garden used that excuse to explain the absence of Huw Evans played by Martin Shaw.

Listened to about ten episodes I could find from the time The Goodies was on; including Radio Prune and ISIRTA Again. As someone said in one episode its 'whimsy' with good puns getting laughs and the occassional too contrived one a groan. John Cleese's middle name isn't really Otto is it? Enjoyed it!

Does anyone know, or can point me to the archive status of ISIRTA please?
Re: ISIRTA on 4Extra this Saturday morning
It pretty much exists complete and, often, extended, AFAIK

This: http://www.britishcomedy.org.uk/comedy/index.html
is a VERY old page detailing the series and is definitely out of date now, but I won't be updating it any time soon. Why do you need to know what exists? Do you think you have something that is lost? I'd be happy to look up specific editions - PM me.

It is a very well put together show, certainly.

It was a repeat of the 2013 one, wasn't it?
