Re: Slot changes

One spectacular example is the jimmy Edward's period piece sitcom Sir Yellow (Yorkshire 1973). The first two episodes went out at 7pm on a Sunday but it was so badly received that by the third episode it was relegated to a post-midnight slot.

AFAIK nothing at all survives but I would love to be proved wrong! TT's appearance on We Are Your Servants (BBC 1956) does survive and illustrates the sort of material he was doing at the time.

Re: Best Loved Sitcoms

I sometimes wonder with these lists whether it's simply an oversight that certain things aren't there, they forgot about it or just didn't think about it. Another issue is how you define sitcom. The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin and Hancock's Half Hour for instance, are they really sitcoms? I do...

Can only second what Andrew has said here - delightful, highly imaginative and inspirational idea that makes you want to create your own imaginary shows/films, cast them and imagine the theme music.

Re: Most expensive British TV drama series?

[quote="drmih"]I think that you have to normalise it based upon the number of episodes, even if it is the cost of the 'series', as many 'lavish' productions wouldn't run to 20 odd episodes, and I'm not sure about lumping two seasons together - by that account you could lump all of Doctor Who togethe...
