Re: A Field in England

Yes it's the same Wheatley. Here's the Film 4.0 press release from 04/09/2012 on the film: Film4 is excited to announce Ben Wheatley's latest project, A Field in England, which is the first feature to be developed and fully financed through its talent and ideas hub Film4.0. A Field in England

As bigged up .

I liked the poster so much I bought one, which was lucky - they're all sold out now. Hopefully the film's just as good.

Re: Armchair Theatre volume 4 (warning: contains McGoohan)

Don't you get it? According to another site... They managed to delete "several thousand" posts (including most of the Archive TV thread) in the process. Apparently there were no backups. Doh. and... Wow! ten years of the Mauso club and its gone -just like that. The new site looks like a cheap holdi...

Re: Armchair Theatre volume 4 (warning: contains McGoohan)

Guess I have at that. The fact that you can actually register here (and you couldn't on the old one) and, by the time I've finished restoring the latest backup, only the last few weeks worth of posts will be missing is obviously neither here nor there.

Re: McGoohan

Following the tearing down of the old Mausoleum that so quickly followed the unwise incantations made within the precincts of that venerable but mortal place, it seems timely to once again whisper the name that resonates through the echoing chambers of the hallways of the Hallowed. I didn't underst...

Ah bollocks. I've literally in this last hour watched the latest Sky at Night and commented to my cat that he was in the presence of the coolest octagenarian in the world.

I wasn't wrong.

Some are nice but a good few are meh. The retailer-specific variants I felt compelled to buy are particularly amateurish.

Judge Dredd [IDW]

Not strictly a British comic, but has anyone tried the new IDW re-versioning of Judge Dredd yet?

Christmas Television

Given that the old thread is gone, I may as well kickstart this one again. We've already gone through " there's no ghost stories - they should be burnt " and other perennial favourites so I think they can be dispensed with in this one. Christmas 2012 on the BBC The BBC unveils another entertaining ...

Re: Sweet Cigarette Cards

I remember buying my Bassett Space:1999 set in the mid '80s by mail order from a guy called, I think, Cadwallader. Extreme skintness stopped me from going the whole hog but I remember him having many different types of sets for me to pine over.

Ah nostalgia...

To celebrate the very eleventh anniversary of it coming into being, The Mausoleum Club (pronounced Mow-zo-ley-um for those not familiar with it) has moved to shiny new digs. Unfortunately, efforts to migrate all the posts from the old forum to the new one were completely coalboxed, so the old forum...
