One of the first theme music composers whose name I learned, I think! Countdown in particular has entered the public consciousness like few other theme tunes. Must be amazing to have everyone knowing your music like that.

RIP.

The Channel 4 news theme is interesting.

An episode of "Come Back Mr's Noah" was blocked on YT, by Channel 4, I think it used that theme, obviously before C4 came along, so I suppose they have the rights to it now.

Ref Channel four news theme..
way back in the late 80s/early 90s, my TV depertment which trained TV production staff, opened a dubbing theatre. We had some 'mood music' LPs but as CDs were taking over, I contacted a number of libraries asking if they would be prepared to supply the department with their music - one of these was called 'Studio G'.
I played through the CDs from the various libraries and on one of the Studio G CDs, came across the Channel Four news theme. As it was available to other production companies before C4 News started (1982) then this is probably the reason YT has been blocked from showing 'Mrs. Noah'.

Rather oddly the "Mrs Noah" is back on, and there is no sign of the theme, (unless it was edited out) so why CH4 had blocked it I'm not sure.

I noticed the theme is on YT anyway, copyright Bruton music.
