Overseas (Archives and Schedules)

Post by Mark »

Thought it might be a good idea to put all the various databases on here ( so as not to distract from the "AOW" thread).

Here's the ones from Spiny:
(Dutch)

Delpher

beeldengeluid

(German)
FFernsehen der DDR

https://www.fernsehserien.de/fernsehserien.de

(Flemish)
Het Archeif

(Italian)
LA STA

(Spanish)
BV PH

Here's one for Australia, with some schedules.

It would be interesting to find out the various set ups for ITV Overseas sales.

For instance, when did Granada start sales?...the early series of "The Army Game" don't appear to have been sold, only series 4 ( and strangely not the final series) but all of "Bootsie And Snudge" was.

I think the first post still needs some work... delpher/nl/kranten are Dutch newspapers which include the TV pages.
While hetarchief is Flemish (although the language is Dutch)...
The Dutch one is: https://zoeken.beeldengeluid.nl/

Those two are the only ones that show directly the archive holdings of their national broadcasters. The German ones are essentially just info - well, a lot of info; although there are also a few German channels that do on-demand, but without showing a full catalogue.

France: https://fresques.ina.fr or https://www.ina.fr - not completely sure what the difference is.

New Zealand

Archives:
https://www.ngataonga.org.nz/ - New Zealand’s audiovisual archive. their purpose is to collect, care for and share the audiovisual Taonga (treasure, anything prized) of Aotearoa. They have stewardship of the Television New Zealand video archives which might include a bit of UK material but probably not a lot.
Status of the collection: http://www.lonely.geek.nz/kiwi-tv/index ... n-the-move

Schedules
https://www.noted.co.nz/the-listener - was the publication of record for NZ TV broadcasts for most of 20th century. Their website sucks, and as far as I know there's no plan to digitize back issues so any research on screenings needs to be with hard copies in a library. Might be some collections of the Listener in the UK https://www.llas.ac.uk/resources/gpg/2057.html ... University of Edinburgh by the looks https://discovered.ed.ac.uk/permalink/f ... 9610002466

I "borrow" any scans of schedules I happen across on the inter-webs and put them here: http://www.lonely.geek.nz/kiwi-tv/index ... -the-years

Some interesting snippets there, first episode of "Robin Hood" in 1960, ( and "The Archers" on the Radio) and "Coronation Street" and "The Protectors" in 73.

Lots of TV listings for New Zealand Television (1970s to 1990s) here for those with lots of time on their hands

Scanned off Microfilm, but still must have taken an insane amount of time to do... I salute those responsible.

The original microfilming would have been the tediously slow bit. The scanning from microfilm is actually quite quick and automated. Thanks for the link as it is always interesting to see the formats of other listing magazines and what was being broadcast.
