Just heard Walter Brennan, of all people, on the show, singing (or rather talking) a thing called Dutchman's Gold. He sounds like the Spitting Image version of Ronald Reagan. FYI.

Had to check it out on YouTube after that! And bloody hell. People bought that?! Willingly?!

I'm sure Brian Matthew has to fill up the two-hour weekly slot somehow. I presume he's played Kinky Boots lots of times.

Something very wrong with the Radio 2 website tracklisting for yesterday's show - a Madonna record has been inserted after the Rolling Stones track! (After watching W1A, I always assume that an intern has been doing the work when things like this happen!)

Anybody else enjoying Tony Blackburn's third live programme of 2021? The jokes are from the 60's too!

Haven't heard it yet but I've enjoyed the last two - I don't normally listen at 6am on a Saturday, so I use the BBC Sounds version to fill up odd gaps in my listening schedule. I don't think Tony Blackburn needs to come up with jokes any more - the listeners send them in!

Yes, he made a point of that last Saturday. Recent ones included "I got a letter with DO NOT BEND on it. I still don't know how I'm going to pick it up", and
"why should you not fall for a tennis player? Because love means nothing to them."
